Jim Pelfrey

A Stitcher's Retreat was thrilled to have an unexpected treat for those in attendance at our Oregon getaway in March of 2002.

Noted blues harmonica player Jim Pelfrey of Soldier, Kentucky came to assist organizer Randy Turner in running the retreat.

Upon learning that Jim is a popular blues harmonica virtuoso in his home state of Kentucky, Maureen Appleton of The Heart's Content convinced him to premier a song from his forthcoming CD.

Jim first entertained the audience with stories from his childhood before launching into a stunning rendition of the title song from his forthcoming album, Slow Train to Soldier.

Be sure to watch for this exciting CD's release (pictured below) later this summer on the Oblivion label.
