Photos from the Vermont Retreat, 2005

The Location

Part of the Woodstock Inn, as seen from the Garden Terrace classroom.
The weather was not the most cooperative the first day of the retreat, but by
the next day it was much nicer, as is evident in the photos!

The rounded circular section is the Eagle Cafe where attendees enjoyed
their breakfasts and dinners. Directly underneath it is the Garden Terrace
classroom. One of five bells located in Woodstock which were cast
by Paul Revere is just outside the classroom (lower right of the photo).

The Woodstock Inn & Resort sits just off the village green. It is the
building farther back in the center of the photo. While the inn is a modern
structure with an old Colonial facade that fits in well with the rest
of the town, it's site has been home to taverns and inns since 1792.

Downtown Woodstock

Thanks to the help of a steel girder supporting it, a building sits
astride a stream passing through downtown.

A covered bridge is on the opposite side of the village green from the inn.

The charming Our Lady of the Snows Catholic Church is located
near one of the inn's side entrances.

The Musical Entertainment

Kendra Ward and Bob Bence provided another wonderful
concert for A Stitcher's Retreat.

Kendra is playing a hammered dulcimer and Bob an
exotic instrument known as the guitar.

Kendra also played a mountain dulcimer.

The Teachers
Main Class, Second Full Day of Classes

The JBW Designs class

Shelley Glockner and Cathy Sheehan, two very generous stitchers who brought
white chocolate lollipops and votive Yankee Candles for everyone!

Miscellaneous Photos and
The Grand Door Prize

A Stitcher's Retreat is extremely proud of our "loyal customers," many
of who come back multiple times. When a stitcher comes for a fifth time,
they are given a special mug as a small token of thanks. We almost always
have one or two people in this exclusive club at a retreat, but in Vermont we had FIVE!
Bev Hassler, Kathie Uebler, Pat Schlaerth, Shelley Glockner, and Cathy Sheehan
were all five time attendees! Shelley and Cathy on the right even accomplished this in
only four years, as they doubled up one year, coming to both retreats!

Windell and Debi Lyon, good friends of Randy's, were a huge help in
making sure the retreat ran smoothly.

We strive to only use teachers who are freindly and approachable.

Anne Littleton was the lucky winner of our Grand Door Prize!

NordenCrafts is a distributor in the cross stitch industry who has always been supportive of and extremely generous with door prize donations to A Stitcher's Retreat.

Repeating their generosity from last year's retreats, owners Dave and Kris Stott went above and beyond, splitting the cost with A Stitcher's Retreat of our Grand Door Prize.

Lucky stitcher Anne Littleton of Long Beach, California won an Ultimate Daylight Floor Lamp with accessories, an approximate $250 value!

Windell and Debi, Maureen, Judy, and Ann.

Same as above, but with Randy tickling Maureen right on cue!
