The Teachers

We were honored to have Ruth Sparrow of Twisted Threads teach for us
again this year! Ruth (center, holding class project) surrounded by her class.

The Location

There are lots of photos of the location on our New Harmony page,
but this shot of the Cathedral Labryinth is interesting. Can you see the
reflection of the tree in the polished sections between the path?

The Shop at A Stitcher's Retreat

In addition to being a wonderful designer and masterful teacher, Charland
Garvin of Charland Designs is responsible for the sterling silver embellsihments
used by Heart in Hand, Twisted Threads, Bent Creek, The Trilogy, and others.
In addition to her designs, Charland brought a large supply of
sterling silver charms, bracelets, necklaces, and more!

Brightneedle brought lots of goodies, including a large number of
Private Reserve items not available to the general stitching public!

Heart in Hand also had lots of exclusive designs, including
a new exclusive to the retreat kit!

We also had items from Twisted Threads and The Trilogy, as well as
A Stitcher's Retreat merchandise, which are not pictured. The opening night
in the shop is always delightfully controlled anarchy!

Next to stitching, shopping is what everyone loves best!

The empty table in the center of the room to the right was where teaching kits
were displayed once they had been debuted to the classes. On the left of the
table is the Grand Door Prize, an Ultimate Daylight Floor Lamp
with accessories ($245 value)! (See deatils below)

Behind the tables from left to right, Charland's wonderful husband, Bob (partially
hidden), Charland (Charland Designs), Ann Pettit, and--barely visible!--Liz Knudsen
(Brightneedle). Charland, Ann and Liz are all sporting extremely attractive (totally
unbiased opinion) embroidered A Stitcher's Retreat shirts!

The Musical Entertainment

Raison D'Etre, a musical trio from Kentucky, gave a fabulous performance
of all types of music from Shaker hymns to swing!

From left to right, Raison D'Etre is: Violet Rae Downey,
Roberta Schultz, and Vickie Ellis.

The Grand Door Prize

NordenCrafts is a distributor in the cross stitch industry who has always been supportive of and extremely generous with door prize donations to A Stitcher's Retreat.

This year, owners Dave and Kris Stott went above and beyond, splitting the cost with A Stitcher's Retreat of our Grand Door Prize.

Lucky stitcher Pam Gephart of Lansing, Kansas won an Ultimate Daylight Floor Lamp with accessories, an approximate $250 value!
